Warwick Wadlington reviews incidents occurring during the completion of Jack London’s “Martin Eden” which leads him to believe that the suicide of the protagonist was planned during the initial stages of the book, and was not, as has been claimed, a hasty afterthough on the part of the author. (NBB)
