The purpose of this study was to assess the likelihood of studying suicide through samples drawn from socially differentiated social areas & to assess the extent of suicidal idealition & experiences in these populations, & to determine how such data may be used in understanding suicide. Subjects were drawn from both a low and a high socioeconomic status area. A major finding was that ideation & suicidal experiences were common in both samples, but more so in those of low economic status. 8 ref.
