Suicide attempters may be rejected by other self-help groups because they are seen as ‘abnormal’. However, attempters do benefit by observing & listening to others who have felt the way that they have, but have learned to cope, & belonging to an attempter self-help group lessens their sense of isolation. Issues to be considered in forming attempter groups are discussed.
