On the basis of research carried out with the surviving friends & relatives of a suicide victim in California & in Stockholm, Dr. Rudestam draws several conclusions about survivors: they suffer many medical & pschosomatic illnesses; they continually search for an explanation for the victim’s death; those who did not discuss the suicide with others felt least relieved as time passed; the death affects family relationships. Other variables are discussed.
