A Retrospective Study & Audit of the Treatment of Suicidal Patients at a Community Mental Health Center (Micro HV 6546 R625 1983)

This study of suicidal patients at a CMHC was undertaken to assess the size & demographic characteristics of these patients, to describe the pattern of treatment used & to audit the quality of care provided. The demographic & clinical profiles were found to be consistent with those described in existing literature. The recommended prioritization of treatment focus on preservation of life & secondarily on underlying pathology was not reflected in the treatment practices of this CMHC.
