This study focuses on the effects of sibling suicide on surviving siblings using the qualitative life history method. The 2 surviving siblings in one family, aged 31 & 35, explored the impact of their older brother’s suicide (7 years previous). The open-ended interview was the primary tool used for gathering data. Several significant findings related to sibling bonds, parental influence in the grief process, communication, interpersonal relationships & potential for growth are discussed.
