This study involved 113 former inpatients with panic disorder 35 years after initial admission. Findings indicated patients with panic disorder had significant excess mortality due to death by unnatural causes. Suicide accounted for 20% & 16.2% of deaths in panic disorder & primary depression groups, respectively. 45 ref. (NBB)
