Abstract
Group Counseling for Suicidal Adolescents (IN: Youth Suicide: The Critical Issues, San Francisco: 1984)
Swanson M S
An experience with adolescent suicide motivated former high school teacher Beatrice Swanson to become involved in group counselling for non-diagnosed teens. The purpose of this peer counselling group is to help troubled adolescents before their problems overwhelm them & a suicide attempt results. She describes how teens are identified, contacted & ultimatelybrought into the group. The group works on the development of coping skills, building self-esteem & the sharing of common experiences.(NBB)
