An investigation of aspects of suicidal & homicidal behaviorin a sample of 18 nations identified 3 factors: the suicide rate, homicide rate, & male/female rate ratio. A number of social, economic, & climate variables were examined for their association with these factors. The suicide rate was associated with the number of psychiatric patients & the birth rate.
