The notes of suicide victims are analyzed here for their characteristics, incidence, & relationship to the final act of self destruction. The note is of particular interest & importance to the certifying official because, when valid, it is prima facie evidence of the manner of death. It is within the jurisdiction of the coroner/medical examiner, who is authorized & directed by various statutes to receive & retain relevant documentary evidence.
