The case history of a 33-year-old male who presented 9 days following ingestion of a mouthful of the herbicide paraquat is discussed. The patient refused treatment intermittently & discharged himself against medical advice, only to be admitted again in a terminal state. Death occurred 14 days following ingestion. (NBB)
