This article is a comprehensive study of the relationship between serotonin & self-destructive behavior. Existing biological research is summarized & some recent findings supporting the “Monoamine Hypothesis” are discussed in the contexts of neurobiology, personality, social behavior, aggressiveness & the prediction of suicidal behavior.
