This study describes a 100 month follow up study of former psychiatric patients, conducted to compare the distribution of death by suicide & other causes in psychiatric & general population, & to investigate causative factors in the psychiatric population. Data revealed distinct differences in suicide rates in age groups 15-24 & those 55+. Social isolation, dependent personality & being hospitalized were also significant factors.(NBB)
