This Egyptian study explores the differences in the symptomatology of depression & rates of suicide that distinguish this country from other nations. Higher suicidal ideation & lower attempts and/or actual suicides are attributed to high social integration, externalization of guilt feelings, use of projective mechanisms, family cohesion & religious condemnation of the act of suicide.(NBB)
