Results from different epidemiological studies conducted in Switzerland reveal a steady increase in depressive disorders & parallel to this increase, a rising number of suicides. The author suggests changes in socioeconomic conditions, better dianosis by physicians based on better education, & more precise symptomatology as factors affecting these rates of increase.(NBB)
