The authors discuss 4 aspects of medical ethics in France – abortion & contraception, artificial insemination, suicide & euthanasia, & drug trials on healthy human beings – and then outline the various ethical codes which apply to French physicians. Where the doctor was formerly regarded as a guardian of traditional values, he is now being asked to adapt to changing values & the latest technological innovations.
