This article discusses the growing rate of suicide among black women, stating black women are killing themselves at the highest rates recorded in the past 50 years. During the past 20 years, rates have risen 80%. Psychologist Dr.Floyd Wylie claims a belief in the lie that single parent, so called mother dominated families are pathological may have subtle, detrimental effects on black women who come from such homes. The absent or rejecting father, he says, is not always a pathological situation.
