The purpose of this study was to determine risk factors that distinguished suicidal schizophrenics from other schizophrenics &, further, whether these risk factors comprise a clinically coherent path that would aid in the assessment of suicide potential. A study of data comparing 15 schizophrenic suicides & 15 hospitalized schizophrenics indicated previous threats, hopelessness, & a higher level of education differentiated the suicide group from the control group.(NBB)
