Abstract
Adjustment to Widowhood After a Sudden Death: Suicide and Non-Suicide Survivors Compared
Demi A S
A comparison study of the effect of sudden death on spouses of suicide & non-suicide victims: 20 spouses in each category were assessed by the HIQ, HSCL, SAS & personal interviews as to physical & mental health & social adjustment. Spouses of suicide victims tended to be younger than those of non-suicides. There was no significant difference between groups in terms of physical or mental health; however the suicide -survivor group demonstrated less satisfactory social adjustment. (NBB)
