This paper presents a clinical & phenomenological study of 521 patients hospitalized for suicidal behaviour over a 1-year period. The degree of intent, duration of suicidal ideas, communication of suicidal behaviour, method, previous suicidal behaviour, temporal association of suicidal behaviour, motivation, attitude toward suicidal behaviour, affective state, psychiatric examination, diagnosis & personality, & environmental changes are discussed.
