P.J. Cummings, Nurse in Charge, Hobbema Health Centre, relates the circumstances surrounding attempted & completed suicides occurring on the reserve during the period Apr.30/76-Oct.31/77. Significant findings were failure to use counselling services, excessive substance abuse, family history of suicide, school drop out, unemployment, & family problems. The author makes recommendations for intervention in all areas of social concern.(NBB)
