Videka-Sherman L~~Lieberman M
Results of a longitudinal study of the effects of bereaved parents’ paticipation in a self-help group & in psychotherapy are presented. Active self-help group participants evidenced unique changes in attitudes about bereavement. Reasons for lack of differences in mental health, marital, & parental roles are discussed. Bereaved parents, more than 1 year after the deaths, funtioned on a level which was often one standard deviation below that of parents who had not lost a child.
