Presents background information on adolescent suicide. Suicide is fairly common in adolescents, but of uncertain origin. Adolescence is a time of growth & learning – including learning to cope. The suicidal adolescent can’t see many options besides suicide. Changes in behavior are normal for adolescents, but many abrupt or long-lasting changes may signal a potential suicide. Information on suicidal indicators, & on how to help someone who is suicidal, is included. (RM)
