The Danish legislation concerning firearms is very restrictive & only shotguns & airguns are permitted without a license. During the 10-year period from 1957-66 there were 643 fatalities by firearms in Denmark; 83% were suicides, 10% accidents, & 7% criminal homicides. These fatalities comprised 5.9% of all suicides in Denmark, 0.3% of all fatal accidents & 18.6% of all criminal homicides.
