The author describes obstacles to education in suicide care that arise from misinformation & personal & professional anxieties among residents & staff. An approach is presented to managing these obstacles by continuing education of all staff, group discussions of multiple clinical cases with senior staff, expert didactic teaching, individual & group supervision, & multidisciplinary team experience.
