Perlmutter R A
Related are examples & clinical observations from emergency visits of borderline & chronically self-destructive patients with emphasis on the meanings of suicide attempts, observations of families, patterns of visits, & psychodynamic issues.Offered are suggestions for an approach to these patients as well as theoretical considerations of the emergency room as an available object. The approach aims to preserve viable psychotherapeutic relationships & to decrease long-term risks of suicide.19 refs
