This article is a summary of a research study conducted with 32 persons who had lost a significant other to suicide. The subject group was 85% female, white, aged 20-60+ & had been bereaved from 3 months to 20 years. Some findings were: 53% had experienced physical illnesses following the suicide; 97% felt experiencing a suicidal death was more stressful than a natural death; 71% said their work had been affected. Many respondents said that this interview had, in itself, been helpful. (NBB)
