This extensive study of 17 adolescent inpatients & their mothers utilized a battery of tests including K-Sads-E, saica, & psychiatric interviews. Results indicated similar psychiatric diagnosis inpatient/mother pairs; a profile of a high risk adolescent as having affective or schizophrenic disorder; behavioral problems aggravated by substance abuse; social isolation; suicidal ideation; history of familial & interpersonal problems.(NBB)
