The causes of suicide viewed from varying theoretical perspectives categorized as internal, external or epidemiological, are reviewed by the authors. The authors propose intermediate level phenomenon as a promising approach to causation. This study of relationships with families & friends is significant because of changes in the structure & stability of the family, which increases the potential for disordered relationships.(NBB)
