Cohort Studies of Suicide (IN: Suicide in the Young, ed. by H S Sudak et al)

This article examines rates of suicide in Alberta, Canada & the USA, using research methods of cohort analysis & profile analysis. The latter method, utilizing statistical data for certain age groups at set intervals, reveals an elevated risk for younger people. Cohort analysis, which follows the same age cohorts over time as they age, predicts extremely high rates for this group as they approach the traditionally high risk age of 50 & over.(NBB)
