Describes a study of 30 cases admitted to a child-psychiatric hospital service because of suicide attempts. Subjects were 12 boys & 18 girls aged 10-15 years. Data from their past personal histories show a great number of family & school problems. In many cases there was an obvious attempt to manipulate the environment & very little desire to end existence.
