2 patients submitted to leucotomy failed to improve, and both committed suicide, 1 3 yr., the other 5 yr. after the operation. Anatomical study of their brains showed that the thalmo-frontal radiations had not been severed. The cases are discussed in the light of previous reports, and the point is stressed that failure to improve after leucotomy does not necessarily imply poor case selection.
