This is a case study of a suicidal nursing student. It details techniques for dealing with the crisis. Faculty are accountable to respond as teaching is a helping relationship. Techniques that convey respect and warmth, caring and empathetic understanding of the student’s perceptions are considered helpful. The ultimate goal of crisis intervention is to make the state of disequilibrium a growth opportunity. (GW)
