The Bronfenbrenner Parent Behavior Questionnaire was administered to 86 adolescents (12 to 18 years) in a crisis ward. These adolescents viewed their parents as more punitive, intrusive, restrictive & to have higher demands for achievement by their children. Factor analysis of 15 subscales revealed 4 orthogonal factors: nurturing, punishing, firm vs. lax control & rejection. No correlation was found between perceptions of parental behaviour & the type of crisis, e.g. suicide. (RM)
