Abstract
Direct and Indirect Hostility and Self-Destructive Behavior by Hospitalized Depressives
Yesavage J A
Based upon research with 45 depressed inpatients, suicidal behavior and other self-destructive acts were found to be correlated with self-report hostility. The need for seclusion and restraint correlated with observer-rated hostility. While level of depression did not correlate with suicidal or destructive behavior, a restricted range of depressed scores may account for this finding. (KSD)
