Abstract
Health Promotion: Control of Stress and Violent Behavior
The Department of Health & Human Services has established goals to reduce stress & violent behavior (including suicide) by 1990. The article outlines these goals, the role & effort of the government in: education, information, grants, technical assistance, cooperative measures, research & surveillance. Time tables & responsible agencies are listed. Decreased youth suicides, increased knowledge of hotlines & use of self-help are included as goals. (LS)
