Paper examines hospital admissions in New York State & concludes that black & white patients differ in relation to the presence or absence of suicidal problems demographically & not clinically. Recommendations on suicide prevention involve efforts to address conflicts of adolescence on an economic and psychological level. Divorce & unemployment are also discussed.
