This proceeding discusses mothers’ bereavement following a stillbirth. Written from a psychodynamic perspective, the author articulates a possible relationship between depression in older women & fetal loss in early adulthood. Depressive symptoms such as suicidal thoughts & loss of energy are presented. Several case studies are included to supplement the author’s theory. (SC)
