This paper deals with potentiating the assets of the troubled elderly as a means of lessening the risk of suicide. Included in the discussion are benefits of psychotherapy and family therapy which aid in lessening interpersonal conflict, increase social and family cohesion, foster activities, and increase mutual positive self-regard.
