Following suicide, caregivers must deal with their own grief, guilt & other feeling resulting from the patient-therapist relationship. Significant others must also cope with emotions related to the suicide. Issues for helping survivors include assessment of suicidal risk, phases of processing loss & taking care of oneself. Experiential training techniques were used & responsibility, control & ambivalence were identified as issues for caregivers in dealing with suicide. (RM)
