This is a case report of a 30 year old man who presented with depression. During psychotherapy, he lost vision in one eye. When the vision in his remaining eye was also threatened he committed suicide. The discussion points out that the subject of rehabilitation should be introduced before the onset of blindness so that the slow to develop compensatory hearing & tactile abilities can be acquired through training periods. Physicians must not colloborate in a patient’s denial of their condition.
