Discusses the presentation of serious psychological disturbances occurring in later adolescence, including neurotic syndromes, obsessive-compulsive neurosis, reactive depression, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia, situational personality reactions (presenting mostly as anxiety & distress), psycho-physiological reactions, & suicide. In dealing with emotionally disturbed adolescents, the possibility of suicide should be kept in mind & suicide ideas talked about. Case examples are given. (5 refs.)
