Intake interview data from 114 people requesting treatment through a drug abuse service were used to examine the relationship between such variables as primary drug of abuse, treatment programs requested, arrests for driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, auto accidents in which the subject was the driver, & non-suicidal overdoses. Examples of results: males had a greater frequency of driving arrests & non-suicidal overdoses than females. Drug users did not use the abuse drug for suicide.
