The author presents findings from a cross-cultural study of communication of suicidal intent. Using the psychological autopsy format, he interviewed bereaved family members in Stockholm & in Los Angeles. Although the focus of the study was on the victim’s lifestyle, Rudestam found the greatest contribution of his research was the therapevtic impact he was able to have on the survivors.
