This is the report of a young woman who entered a state of stupor after witnessing the suicide of her 19-year old cousin. The author describes the effect of the suicidal act on the dynamics of the families of both young people. The author concluded that the S’s stupor was a reaction to a severe psychotrauma of a person suffering from communication difficulties in a family inclined to projecting & generating guilt feelings.
