Incorporated in 1975 as a non-profit organization, the Council on Suicide Prevention is a Toronto-based group of professional persons interested in both the study and prevention of suicidal behavior. In this paper, the history and objectives of the Council on Suicide Prevention are discussed, together with a brief summary of a survey of Toronto Social Service agencies having contact with suicidal persons.
