A model is proposed for the development of crisis intervention services in northern Ontario communities. Central to the proposal is the idea that concerted efforts are needed to implement a system of mental health services to ensure early detection of suicidal activity, emergency crisis intervention responses & the implementation of primary efforts aimed at preventing the development of serious mental health problems in the northern population.
