A retrospective investigation of the life of an elderly suicide, as related by his relatives & associates, indicated that he had come to see the problems of his life as insurmountable, whereas they could actually have been solved if divided into manageable segments. This psychological “tunnel vision” was the most inimical of the factors leading to his death. (30 ref.)
