This letter contains a tested guide for teachers, counselors and other school personnel to use when a death has occurred in a school. Students need to be informed as soon as possible. Suggestions are given as to place to meet, reminiscing, how to discuss funerals and memorials, grief, local resources, presentation of facts surrounding the death, as well as the students’ responsibility.
