Author clearly identifies similarities and differences in adult and adolescent suiciders. Such factors as impulsivity, extent of support systems, life pressures, family stress and extent of depression are discussed. A case is made for hospitalization, timely discharge and the education of family and physicians as intervention strategies. (JH)
